8:40 pm - Livejournal?!
Christ, it's been a long time since I updated here. I was convinced I'd deleted it but evidently not.

Anyway, things have been weird lately. I've been thinking about decisions I've made and I can't help but wonder how different things would be had I gone with Another Option. It's almost obsessive and often unbearably depressing.

I'll give a fresh update soon.

Today brought a reminder of why I'm so scared of hoovers and, indeed, hoovering.

I was in the middle of giving my bedroom the once over when I accidentally ran over a sock by my bed. There was a very loud squealing noise and I suddenly smelled burning. Then there was a little bit of smoke. So I turned the blessed thing off and put it back in the cupboard, where I forsee it remaining for the near future.

Not only did it cause unnecessary anxiety, but I had to throw away a perfectly good pair of socks.

In other news, Joshua from Troll 2 thinks that Wrinkles and Other Wrinkles are "awesome", and cannot wait to see them re-enact their favourite scenes from Troll 2.

"Wrinkles... who are the goblins?"

Went to a Film/TV networking event last night with Sarah. It was fun.

I was told by a Lithuanian girl that I look like this character:

Who knows.

We have baby robins in the shed. There are three of them. So cute. I'm too scared to take a picture of them, though. It's so dark in there that I'd need to turn on the flash, and that'd scare the poor buggers.

Boredom ensues.

New song coming shortly. By the weekend.

This one is a good one.

It's so good that you might even want to burn the rest of your record collection and send me vast amounts of cash to perform for you.

This is the closest thing to crazy
I have ever been
Feeling 22, acting 17
This is the nearest thing to crazy
I have ever known,
I was never crazy on my own:
And now I know that there's a link between the two,
Being close to craziness and being close to you.

This song has been haunting me since it was released. I just find it astonishingly beautiful...

5:35 pm - I feel it's my duty as a fan...
A few entries back, I mentioned going to a concert while in Japan. The group Craig and I saw are The Tokyo Incidents - a band fronted by a very, very talented female singer/guitarist/songwriter/goddess by the name of Shena (or Shiina) Ringo. I know a lot of people out there listen to Japanese musicians for the pure sake of them being Japanese. An awful lot of these musicians are admittedly pretty mediocre, in my opinion, and play nothing you can't already hear over here.

Shena Ringo is a whole different story.

It's difficult to describe her music because all of her albums are so incredibly different. There are elements of The Sex Pistols, Bjork, Radiohead, The Beatles, Tori Amos but her sound remains very much unique.

So there's a recommendation for people bored with most music today. Download a few tracks off Soulseek (I'd recommend "Marunouchi Sadistic", "Honnou", "Sid to Hakuchuumu" and "Gibs" to start off with... but her best achievement - BY FAR - is the album Kalk Samen Kuri No Hana, which simply has to be listened to as a whole album.)

So... back in Chavsville after two weeks of travelling round Japan.

Bit of a let down.

Owain came back from Australia yesterday. He's come back at the right time as far as I'm concerned.

I don't know. I'm feeling rather strange at the moment. I'm not unhappy, at all. Perhaps a little empty? Lacking in motivation? I seem to spend an awful lot of my time looking at the ceiling and just... thinking. I know every curl and stroke of that ceiling like the back of my hand. I like making out faces in it. This afternoon I saw Paul McCartney.

Tomorrow is interview.

*waves from Japan*

We've been to Tokyo, Osaka, Hiroshima and now we're back in Tokyo again.

The weather is poor.

But tomorrow we're going to see Shiina Ringo in concert! Yes!
